Surviving holding a snake

Dead coyote at Journey Wildlife Reserve

Donating $1.00 through PayPal to Journey Wildlife Reserve is an easy way to help us to keep on protecting wildlife.

Having your own wildlife reserve and personal “State Park” takes two things: time and a lot of beer.

I’ve spent the past 7 years over taking Mother Nature and shaping 38 acres of SOUL BREAKING land into something truly amazing. Sometimes people ask me why I do it. There's no real reason. Why do those wacko's in the UK build their own personal castles in their backyard? Who knows. But what I do know is that it's nearly KILLED ME on more than one occasion.

The reserve is in Worth Township, PA 16057. That's zone 5 to you gardeners. It's about 50 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh and just shy of 2 miles north of Moraine State Park if you know where that is.

The reserve is in a valley so you can look down into it from the road. In the early days I'm sure that my neighbors looked down at me and thought I was a complete idiot, especially when I caught myself on fire and had to STOP DROP AND ROLL. Look below and you'll see a picture of me standing by the large tree pile that NEARLY TOOK ME OUT.

While you are reading this look at the top left of this page at my logo. Any idea what it is? I have no idea but what the hay, I had no idea how to build a wildlife reserve either. If you don't know me you should take a look under "the journey" link to your left. If you want a crash course in one sentence of who I am: I'm a city guy gone country and I have a groundhog named "Tuna."

Man you're still reading this? You must have a lot of time on your hands. Click here to see an AMAZING thing.
