FRAIL AND NAKED is how we come into this world and these baby robins aren't any different. I took this picture on May 4th, 2005 while I was walking through my woods. The babies were pretty neat. If you started chirping like a bird they would both stick their heads up and open their mouths waiting to be fed. There's no free ride on the reserve so these two birds got the shaft when they stuck their heads up to me.

Newborn robins with heads up waiting to be fedI was pretty shocked to see them stick up their heads when I chirped. The mommy and daddy robins were about 6 feet away from my head while I was jammed into the middle of a tree losing the feeling in my legs and taking these pictures. I thought that the mommy robin was going to do a re-enactment of Alfred Hitchcocks "Birds" so I HIT HER WITH A ROCK before she got the jump on me. Hahahah. Just kidding...
